I’ve set up a LOTGD server over at lotgd.nathanclayton.com. Feel free to go over there and start playing. I’ve got it set to 6 in-game days in one regular day so that the game moves along pretty quickly and you aren’t out of it for too long if you end up dying.
It really takes me back to the old BBS/LORD days. If anyone comes across a web version of Usurper or TradeWars, please let me know and I’ll host it as well.
According to the BBC, a giant python almost ate a man in Kenya over the weekend. The snake had carried him into a tree to enjoy its meal in relative privacy when it loosened up enough for the man to reach his cell phone and call for help. The best quote from the article has to be:
“We want to arrest the snake because any one of us could fall a victim.”
Well, my car is covered with pollen from the pine trees, turning it yellow and my allergies are acting up. I guess that you could say that springtime is here…
I don’t know if you’ve ever played it, but World of Goo by 2D Boy is freaking amazing. I can’t remember the last time that I’ve been this addicted to a video game. It may sound stupid, but building structures out of little balls of goo is completely addictive.
If anything, just get the demo and play that, even that kept me busy for a long while.
I’m finally uploading the photos that I took when it snowed here in Vegas this past December. I took the photos Dec. 18th. You can see the photos on my Flickr photostream. The set is here.
I’ve just installed OpenSUSE on my old laptop (an old Satellite Pro 2100 - a piece of crap, but it’s still running somehow), and I have to say wow. It’s been a while since I’ve used any version of SUSE because for the longest time it wouldn’t work correctly with my wireless card (although every other distro that I tried would). Well, it finally is working correctly, and the eye-candy that KDE4 provides is just short of amazing. I really like it.
This has completely replaced Windows on that system. It boots faster, is more secure, and easier to use in my opinion.
Looking at Colombia’s central bank’s website - inflation last year seems to have been over 2% higher than desired. Not the best, but still a sign of a growing economy. When compared to the U.S.’s 3.8% over the past year, which can indicate both a slowing economy and the potential for a deflationary cycle, it just isn’t good.
Does anyone know of any good international banks that they’d be willing to recommend? I know of Citibank, Lloyds TSB, HSBC, DeutscheBank, and the international arms of Wells Fargo, UBS, and Bank of America. Does anyone know of any other international banks with an extensive network of branches (only major cities is perfectly fine - e.g.: London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York).
